This piece and other projects I have done were constructed with this old maple from the flooring of a stone century house that was demolished in my area. The baseboards throughout the house were 12 inch pine totally knot free. All the floors were this curly maple T&G at 1 1/4 thick by 4 inches wide. The lumber was obviously all from virgin forest. Some I used to laminate my own kitchen floor.
