Front Hall Storage Bench
comments (1) November 26th, 2009 in Reader's Gallery
This is my first large scale project. My Mother-in-Law requested a storage bench for her font hall. I presented it to her as a Christmas present. I tapered the legs with a home made jig that I saw in a FWW back issue. The bench is approx. 30" long by 18" wide and 20" tall. The lid is maple plywood with solid trim and faux bread board ends. The case is also maple plywood joined to the legs with plywood spline joints. The finish is a wipe on oil/varnish blend. The top edgeing arround the storage compartment is red cedar which inparts a beautiful smell every time the lid is opened.
