This piece was built for a client that gave me free rein on design and details , he did insist on a footed leg . I used Quarter Sawn White Oak , Black Walnut with Mahogany side panels and accents . The side panel frames are tenoned into the Walnut legs as are all the other rails . The front legs were laminated and not cut from thicker stock .
Oddly enough I started out to make this a G & G styled piece but after shaping the front legs I knew I had to make an original not a copy . I took a risk with the design and mix , all the client said was Wow .
