Handplanes in Springfield
comments (11) December 29th, 2009 in blogs
Update: Congrats to Albert P. Creto of Wallingford, Conn. He won the Stanley Bailey No. 4 smoothing plane at the Springfield show.
Join me at The Woodworking Show's Hand Tool Rodeo in Columbus, Ohio, January 15th, 16th and 17th. I will be the featured presenter demonstrating handplane restoration at several of the presentations over the weekend.
I've assembled a group of Ebay sourced Stanley Bailey No.4 smoothing planes and one will be restored to better-than-new condition over the course of the weekend then raffled to a lucky winner at the end of the show. Stop by and say hello, watch a presentation or two, and put your name in the hat to win the Stanley. You don't have to be present to win, the plane will be shipped to your door.
I'll also be presenting at a number of Woodworking Shows around the country in the next few months and a handplane will be given away at every show, so keep track of where and when here or online at Thewoodworkingshows.com.

I have many restore planes and I have had good luck with them. After getting a # 4,5,6 Baileys Planes from different yard sale I went to. I now use them all the time(for less then a new plane would cost for "one").
Using the info from FineWW was a big help after that. a day in the shop working and a can of spray paint the plane is back to new.
Thank you
Chris P.
