I wanted to give my nephew and his new bride a wedding gift that would last a lifetime. I decided that a clock would serve to not only represent their time together but mean something personal as well. After looking and many and finding none that impressed me, I decided that I should make exactly what I was looking for.

I decided on an Arts and Crafts style case that is has a slight taper to the front rails. The dial is hammered copper wrapped over 1/4" plywood and the pendulum has copper wrapped over the original disc provided with the clock works form Murray Clock Craft. I cut the hands from a sheet of aluminum, epoxied them to the set that came with the clock and spray painted them white. The back is divided by a stile and the upper panel is removable to access the clock.

The finish is a simple seal coat lightly sanded, stained and a wipe on matte poly.
