I'm a novice, for sure, with only a handful of projects under my belt.  I started dreaming about luthiery a few years ago and started buying necessary materials and tools.  But then kids came along, house renovations came along, and now I find my "shop" buried in "rubble".  So, I have a long road ahead of me to get ready to start my dream project - building a replica JPM guitar - but at least by posting it I will put it in my mind that this is my goal.

Then the shop will be calling you to come and work on the project, even if it's 1/2 hour every day or two. There is no project I started that I did not finish. And yes, you may get frustrated at times and pieces may not come out correctly, but redo them. You can't get better if you don't challenge yourself and make mistakes along the way. It's part of the process we must go through. There's nothing like the feeling when you finish a project knowing you did the best you could and you get compliments from others, especially fellow woodworkers. Get to it ThunderShred.

You may have to do something over multiple times. Just enjoy the ride and don't worry how long it takes. Determine to finish it 100%. Along the way if you have to stop to make some tooling, do that. Just keep moving forward. Otherwise it will never happen.
