I call this a Special Cabinet because it is a quite amazing combination of needs and design. It houses a flat screen television on a lift, a satellite TV receiver, a showcase, and also hidden compartments for jewelry (earrings and necklaces). The TV lift mechanism raises a cutout in the ambrosia maple top. The jewelry compartments are held closed by spring loaded magnetic catches and open by simply pressing in at the top. The compartments glide on under-drawer ball bearing runners. The back is a frame and panel design with large slots between the panels to allow lots of air circulation due to the electronics within. The legs are bandsawn cores of red oak with cherry lamniations on front and back.
