My Son's First Bed

After final sanding of all the curvy parts.


Bed for my son made of maple and curly maple ply for the inset pieces.  Floating tenon joinery used except for the 8 bed bolts used to fasten the headboard and footboard to the rails.  Finished with a custom mix of gel stains and boiled linseed oil for the curly pieces.

grainman grainman writes: Very nice job. I like the color contrast and the smooth curves. I tried gel stain only once but did not do well. But you evidently do good with it. Thanks for the picture.
