Cherry Mutli-media storage cabinet
comments (0) September 30th, 2009 in Reader's Gallery
This cabinet was built to house all types of media storage. The cabinet was constructed of solid cherry. The cabinet sides were joined to the bottom with tapered sliding dovetail and the top was open web frame. Hand made scroll brackets with fixed shelves were mounted on the doors. Interior shelves were adjustable. Back was made of tung and groove random width panels. Custom moldings were applied on the base and the underside of the top. The drawer was made of baltic birch plywood with solid cherry front and solid brass hardware. Doors were cope and stick with loose tenons for added strength. 120 degree European hinges were used at the customers request. Finish was Minwax jell cherry stain with multiple layers of dewaxed orange shellac and rubbed out with paste wax.
