This TV credenza features a top made out of walnut burl veneer panels wrapped with 1 1/8" thick solid walnut joined at the corners with re-inforced miters.  The top has a curvy front edge, a design detail that is repeated in the base, legs and drawer handles. The drawer fronts and side panels are also made of solid walnut and walnut burl veneer.  The remainder of the structure is made from commercial walnut veneer ply. 72" wide x 25" high x 23" deep. Finish is polymerized tung oil.

msegvich msegvich writes: This credenza is beautiful. I'm about to tackle something similar myself. I have basic wood-working knowledge and would like to mix veneered plywood with solid wood to reduce cost. However, I wasn't sure what are the dos and don'ts when mixing plywood (man-made material) with solid wood. I've done a lot of searching on the topic, but I seem to be looking in the wrong spots. There's got to be some articles on Fine Woodworking about this. Do you know of any books or other sites that I should look at? Any chance I could see your plans? Great work!
