My younger son Will and I have just completed what started out to be a 'spare time' project.  He's a banjo player and has been working in the shop with me for a couple of years now.  This project was challenging on a lot of different levels.  We learned a lot, about building a banjo and about working together on a project (as a father and son, student and teacher[both to each other]) where each of us had some knowledge, but neither of us had the whole picture. We both stuck up for what we thought was the right next step during the process, which made for some interesting discussions. It's a good thing one of us (and it wasn't me) knew a lot about how a banjo should play, how it should be set up and what little things you can do to fine tune the finished product. One of us also has a lot more patience and (and it isn;t me) ... Will has a couple more tweaks that he wants to do to it, but I think he's pretty happy with it  .... Hopefully, we'll add some sound to this entry soon .... I'm ready to start the next one ...  There are larger, higher resolution photos on my dorset custom furniture blog ...

I have also added about 25 items to my 'new stuff' category on my website. All those items have corresponding blog posts with links in the text ...
