While camping, my wife and I came across a 15' - 3"x12" lodged on the banks of a river.  We wrestled it out and took it home. At the time we didn't have much for furniture and had been using a flimsy ironing board for a table.  Unable to stand it any longer I built a real table that would never sag, and the Iron Table was born.  Probably the greatest challenge was the irregularity of the wood - twists and warps and splits - each join had to be custom made, no jigs or common fence settings here. The strapping I found along the railway tracks behind my shop which I had just enough of, quite literally to the inch! The tusk tenons of the trestle added a nice detail to the side of the table, as did the carvings.
