Bow Arm Morris Chair

Instead of using quarter sawn white oak, which is traditional for Arts and Crafts style furniture, I decided to use cherry for its beautiful color and patina when finished in oil. The arms are bent laminations using West System 2-part epoxy. The legs were created using a 45 degree lock-miter router bit so the figuring of the wood wrapped around each leg post. The finish is 3 coats of hand rubbed Liberon Finishing Oil. The oil finish gave the piece the beautiful/warm honey color that only cherry seems to give.
