Desk and hutch height taller than normal to match eye level in electric wheel chair.  Shelf in bottom and back designed to miss feet and legs and prevent injury to the user.  Final installation uses sides of hutch to hold mouth controls
Matching traditional desk was designed to set next to the wheel chair desk in final installation

A pair of oak desks specifically designed for a friend of mine who became a quadrapalegic after a car accident.  He needed a desk that allowed him to use the computer from his wheel chair and it had to be designed such that it couldn't hurt his hands or feet when he pulled up to the desk.  His request was that it "look like furniture" rather than a piece of hospital equipment.  The traditional desk was designed to be used by his wife and sit next to his. I built this a few years ago and it was my first desk.
