Maple Burl Box

This is the first turned object that I drew a design for before I turned it. I finished it with my Magic Mojo, a wax and oil mixture that I am selling at the local Woodcraft store. I love the gleam on the burl in theses pictures. I did the top first using the Jimmy Clewes method, but then cut it back just a little so it would open a little easier. The advice I received on fitting the top was, "Imagine the box full of talc powder when you open it". It made me think twice about how tight to make them. http://quartersmith.us
