Cherry hutch made drom Taunton's plans.  Made from figured cherry with drawers made from Maple.  The glass is Seed glass from a stained glass shop.  Hardware is Victorian and the finish is a single coat of Waterlox Sealer and three coats of Waterlox Satin with a coat of Renaissance Wax.

Since it was really a special piece and I used no secondary woods. I'd say I went through several hundred feet. Cost was a dream. I found a guy that sold me some really nice cherry at $3bf. The flitch was nice and used for several bookmatches in the piece. The crown was a special piece my supplier had tucked back for a few years waiting for a good project but when we looked at my plans he pulled it out from the back and said take it. I paid about a hundred for that board alone. It was about 10ft and I had one shot at cutting it right. I bought a cheap piece of oak crown exactly like it just to practice the cut. Finally the hardware is from house of antique hardware and is real reasonable. The catch is an original found on e-bay for 3 bucks. All in all I have a bit over a grand. I figure the kids can fight over it when I'm gone. If you look hard on craigslist and woodweb and will be willing to buy your lumber in bulk you can do it reasonable.
