In case you couldn’t make it to Las Vegas this week... here are some of the sights and sounds from Belt Sander Racing Association's national championship yesterday where souped-up sanders zipped down a 75-ft. strip of track. Again... courtsey of The Wood Whisperer. plus a less-official race by "chanedisel28" at the bottom of this post.
The first race:

Time: 0:42
Another clip with sanders reaching speeds of 17 and 18 miles per hour.
Produced by: The Wood Whisperer
Time: 0:43
And... here's one of my favorites... an unofficial belt sander race... "DEWALT VS. MAKITA: RACING BELT SANDERS ON A BORING DAY AT WORK" uploaded this week by chanedisel28. Obviously, don't try this at home. I'm sure it's goes against everything in the manufacturers' instruction booklet.
