Another Celebrity Woodworker

Here at Fine Woodworking we get excited when we hear about famous people taking up our quirky craft… It was quite a coup when we got wood turner William H. Macy on the cover of one of our magazines. Then there’s Jon Stewart, Tom Selleck, Jimmy Carter, etc.
Now I read that one of the actors, Nick Offerman, on the new show Parks and Recreation is a woodworker and boat builder, according to an article on digitalcity.com. (Check out his Web site).
Apparently he’s making a canoe and turning it into a how-to video. Check out this clip from his episode on "Planking:"
Produced by: canoecraft
Time: 9:48
It warmed my heart to read Offerman say, “Teaching myself woodworking has involved a lot of Fine Woodworking Magazine…”
I have yet to watch the show but have been meaning to tune in. Anyone else watch it? I should definitely check it out now. Guess the season premier is Sept. 17.
