On the Road with Fine Woodworking
comments (0) July 7th, 2009 in blogsNow that's a pile of tables! During a recent road trip to Bob Van Dyke's Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking, I couldn't help but notice this jigsaw puzzle of bow-front tables upon entering the shop. The pieces were being built as part of a woodworking class and were a pleasure to behold. For a second there, I almost thought I was staring at the bow-front project recently featured in Fine Woodworking. Alas, this was a different design but just as graceful.

If you look closely in this photo of a shameless Fine Woodworking videographer stomping all over Bob's workbench, you'll notice a series of dovetailed scraps joined by Fine Woodworking contributor and CVSW instructor Mario Rodriguez. For those of you who wish to critique the "tightness" of Mario's joints, I've included a larger snapshot below. Trust me, these dovetails are tight as drums!

Fine Woodworking's Gina Eide and I had traveled to Manchester, CT to shoot footage for a new series with Van Dyke. You can expect to see the final product in the coming weeks. In the meantime, have a look at some of his most recent woodworking tips and tricks.
