The New Woodworker Handbook by Tom Hintz.
Fox Chapel Publishing, 2007.
$19.95; 264pp.
The New Woodworker Handbook is written for the beginning woodworker and provides info on the “basics of spending wisely, working safely, and having fun in your shop”. The book begins by covering such topics as setting up your shop and buying tools; moves on to shop safety, selecting and preparing wood and finishing; and concludes with 6 skill-building projects, such as a bookcase, a shop wall cabinet and a coffee table. Even though the book is originally geared toward the beginner woodworker, I can’t imagine it doesn’t have some good info for everyone.
