Machinist's Chest
comments (4) June 20th, 2009 in Reader's Gallery
My first attempt at any sort of serious wood working project, this traditional drop front machinist's chest is made from recycled New Zealand Rimu, the front and back panel tongue and grooved board being Silver Beech. The draw pulls I turned myself from stainless steel and the chest handles and lid corners are cast in aluminium from my own patterns, the castings machined by myself. The chest is finished in a marine grade wood oil.
