My grandson's maternal grand parents are Norwegian, so when my son asked me to make a special bed for him, I naturally thought of a viking boat.  The final bed has hatches fore and on the sides for clothes, a secret compartment for candy, a time capsule mounted underneath with sketches I drew and videos of construction.  The dragon's head is meant to be whimsical and even contains a discoloured tooth as a warning about tooth brushing.  The headboard carving of a dragon has my grandson's and granddaughter's names in the runic script.
