Butternut Kitchen
comments (1) June 3rd, 2009 in Reader's Gallery
Happening upon a stack of rough-cut, air dried Butternut in Vermont, I took it home to Virginia to remodel and redesign my kitchen. Cabinet boxes of white flakeboard laminate with natural finished butternut faces. FW article used to flush-mount the sink in a laminate top. Euro-Amer design (Danny Proulx's book guidance) for face frames and hardware. Cork floor (floating glued panels).

The kitchen looks great!
I'm in Vermont and about to start a bookcase and built-in lower cab. with Butternut. Haven't worked with it before and wondered if you had any advice or challenges that you encountered? I'll be using a clear finish, probably lacquer and otherwise it's fairly straightforward.
Thanks,
Karl
