This was a very ambitious second project for me made entirely of cherry in 2004.  I deviated from the plans in a Best of Finewoodworking book by turning the legs and scaling the design to take advantage of a wide cherry board I used to make the top.  This was my first and last project using a dovetail jig for the half blind dovetail in the table.  I did the wooden knuckle by hand, which supports the table when the  top is expanded.

I learned alot in this project which was made for my wife's sister's wedding as a gift.  They were pleased with the gift.  The finish is shellac, wipe on polyurethane and wax.  I wish I had known about suntanning cherry at that time...the piece would have gotten a quick aging, but you live and learn.
