Douglas Fir 2x4s pulled from a dumpster, with left over Wenge from a friend's project

I've always been drawn to wood and have worked with it one way or another for a long time. A good friend of mine who is a great furniture maker inspired me to start getting more into woodworking a few years ago. While over at his shop one day, we walked by a house being remodeled down the street, and we saw these gems of CVG Douglas Fir 2x4s being thrown into the construction dumpster. They had no idea what they were throwing away. I'm always looking for a good deal, and to come across these 2x4s for free is as good as it gets. My design is drawn from my years as a hardwood flooring installer. Although you do not see the french knot very often, it's always been one of my favorites.
