Used a plan by from Fine Woodworking library but substituted walnut for quarter sawn white oak. Actually made two of these pieces as toy boxes for my grandchildren. Both cut from a single slab of 16 qtr walnut stock. Using bandsaw, tablesaw and hand tools, I was able to build both boxes over a three month period of late nights and weekends. Did not use any stain, just left the color natural. The finish is ten + layers of Minwax Wipe-On Poly.
