Walnut Seven Drawer Chest

Material:       Black Walnut, Hard Maple & Aromatic cedar

Dimensions:   54 ¾" H x 31" W x 19" D

This seven drawer chest is constructed of solid wood using web-frame drawer supports that allow for movement of the solid wood sides. The front and back drawer dividers are glued into the carcass sides using exposed sliding dovetails. Drawer runners are attached to the carcass sides using dado joints then connected to the front and back of the drawer dividers using mortise and tenon joints. Aromatic cedar dust shields in the panels between the drawers offer a lovely useful scent. The drawers have hand cut through dovetails in the back and half-blind dovetails in the front. The back is made using the frame-and-panel method. The finish is a durable linseed oil and urethane wipe-on mixture on the front, top and sides. The inside of the case is finished with shellac.
