Portrait - The cabinet maker - 2'15 from ineoprod on Vimeo.

Video Length: 2:14
Produced by: Germain Lalot

I am a sucker for beautifully lit, romantic woodworking videos. There's just something about the subtle tones and veils of swirling dust in a gritty workshop that inspires me to pick up my tools and start crafting. I have no explanation for this, suffice it to say that this video covering the work of French cabinetmaker Jerome Besnard really fit the bill for a little Saturday morning inspiration recently.

Besnard is a furnituremaker in his own right, as well as a restorer of vintage pieces. His shop looks like something out of a Dickens novel. It had so much character in fact, that I couldn't help but wonder if the production team for this video hired a set designer! It's just too perfect.

For those of you looking for a bit of inspiration to get you into your shops this Memorial Day Weekend, this is one video you can't miss.

A Big THANK YOU for your views, and a remembrance of the craft we all aspire to. Could not have inspired me more

A' Jerome, Beaucoup d'appreciation pour votre discipline, philisophe, et l'ambiance de votre travail. ( To Jerome, much appreciation of your discipline, philosophy, and feeling in your work.)

The video was inspiring in that it reminded me of the art we pursue.

Loved the video, thanks.
