A room divider with shelf-space that sets my small office apart from the rest of the room and still allows for a glance at my wife.
The piece is made from cherry and finished with several coats of shellac. The back of the bottom section is open to allow for storage of  folders etc.

Overal size is 185x100x25 cm. By cutting out three equal sections in each board starting at 30 cm in from the end, the four bendable strips were thus left. The tricky part was fitting the shelves. Notches half the width of a strip (1 cm) were cut at the desired intervals which led to the overall "fan-shape". It required quite a complex set-up with spacers, clamps and at times the wish for a third arm.

The round section at the front of the bottom-box was done by cutting thin strips and alternately routing convex and concave sides. This way they could be joined together following  the curve.
