Thanks to you, last year's Tool Guide offered real-world wisdom about scores of tools. Help our readers out again this year. The online survey takes only a few minutes to complete.

Hey everybody,

We're trying to help our readers make some smart tool choices and we need your advice. Our annual Tool Guide doesn't come out until September, but because it's a fairly huge project involving hundreds of tools, it's already in production and I'm knee-deep in page proofs. One of the best things about the Tool Guide, if you ask me, is the rankings by readers who actually use the tools. That's where you folks can help.

This year's online Reader Survey got underay this morning. Please click here to find the survey and tell us what you think about some of the tools we're reviewing in this year's Tool Guide. I promise it only takes 5 minutes or so, not counting the time needed to visit your shop and double-check model numbers.

Completing the survey will be a huge service for your fellow readers, which will make you feel good. It will also make you eligible for some terrific prizes.

This year, we're giving away three copies of Fine Woodworking's DVD archive (a $150 value), which includes every page of the magazine's first 200 issues. Ten other winners will get their choice of a year's subscription to either Fine Woodworking or our sister publication, Fine Homebuilding.

Best of luck, and let the balloting begin.

Steve S.
