I built this cradle for my first child. I planned on spraying it with a few coats of lacquer, but this little guy decided to come 3 weeks early, so the danish oil will work for now.

This cradle is an original  design, though was inspired and adapted from a plan in Wood mag. I wanted to build a functional cradle, that also fit my home. I wanted it to follow Stickley's mission design, though i could not find anything similar to what I wanted, so I designed my own plan using sketchup. The Cradle is 100% QSWO, all fully mortised, and the basket hangs through fully lubricated and sealed ball-bearings and stove bolts.

Design or Plan used: My own design

My original idea was inspired by the cradle plan from the October 1987 issue of WOOD magazine, but the only part I ended up using was the ball-bearing.
