I have been tinkering with woodworking and making stuff since I was in highschool. I have been collecting machinery and tools about 28 years. My shop is in my the third bay of my 3 car garage and there is just barely enough room for one person to get around, but it works well for me. The size is 18'x24', and I have arranged everything by trial and error, as it pretty much fits like a puzzle. I also have some machinery in the the other 2 garage stalls, and for bigger work we pull the family car out and I have a pretty large work/assembly area when needed. Some folks wonder how material and work flow, but I can pretty much mill and prep an 8 foot long piece of lumber without too much trouble. There are some metal working machines in here along with a stick welder and a mig welder that I roll into my other garage stall where a steel welding table lives. I could use a bigger space, but it is very cozy and I like it fine.
