Headboard with salvaged insert.

This is a king sized headboard. The frame is made of quarter sawn White Oak and the finish is black stain with brown dye and clear lacquer. The inset was removed from a "old door". It has a companion, but with a different design. The two doors were removed from my client's Mother's home before it was torn down. Originally I thought it was a window shutter. The salvaged piece is about 1 inch thick, appears to be made out of Walnut and one end has been cut off. The original dimensions would be approximately 10 feet long by 19.5 inches wide. I am interested in knowing what the insert was actually used for.
