Legs and lower stringers are 6x6 alder, upper stringers 3x6 alder (all reclaimed).  Top is 4x24x96 maple with a Lee Valley face vise with hickory jaws.  All joined with single and double slip tenons.  Stringers knock down with 8#x3/8" bolts.  Top sits on slip tenons but floats otherwise.  Hasn't offered to move.  Top was initially going to be glued, joined and planed in sections but was too hefty for me and my tools.  Glued it all up and used a slab leveler - worked well.  Had I planned this I would have made the top 120" long.  Next time.  Plane stop has been very useful.  Only one dog on the top so far. Will wait and see where I need them as it gets used.  A sturdy workbench with a nod to Ed Pirnik's storage, Jeff Miller's slip tenon joints, Matt Kenney's monster bench, Nick Offerman's slab leveling technique, John Tetrealt's hybrid Roubo (that's the video that started the itch) and Chris Schwartz 10 essenstials in a work bench.
