A Charles Rohlfs 1898 desk chair inspired Marcucci to make these mahogany chairs. As he made each one, he changed the design of the back and other details. The first (center) shares the same back shape and cutout design as the original Rohlfs, although it is not as elaborate. The second (left) has a simpler back, with a walnut center and trim. The third is based on a flatware pattern Marcucci admired. The chairs are 16-in. deep by 15-1⁄2 in. wide by 47 to 51-in. tall; they are finished with oil-based stain and urethane.
