A landscape architect, Roberts takes design cues from nature. This bench, 18 in. deep by 72 in. wide by 18 in. tall, was inspired by a bird’s skeleton—delicate, durable, and lightweight. Using reclaimed plywood, Roberts knows he fell short on the lightweight part but designed the bench to look airy. The finish is polyurethane. from Fine Woodworking #221
