This is a jewelry box that my oldest son and I made for his girlfriend as a Christmas gift.  It's a spinoff of another design that was originally a square box that displayed a decorative tile in the center.  The dimension changes and final wood choices were my son's.  It was my job to execute his design.  It features maple, curly maple, birsdeye maple, and padauk.  The finish is shellac and poly.

All of the wood was either salvaged or given to us, including the padauk. The padauk was scraps from a friend's light switch covers.  The hard maple and birdseye maple were plucked from work (with permission)...the birdseye was actually a joist from a production deck that I spoke up for.  The curly maple was given to us by another friend.
