An Efficient Garage Workshop
With wheel-mounted tools and cabinets, a two-car garage transforms into a versatile workshop
by
Bill Endress
Many garage woodworkers face a common dilemma: how to share shop space with the family cars. Bill Endress, of Tucson, Arizona, illustrates his smart solution in this online companion to his article "Roll-Away Workshop," featured in Fine Woodworking #167.
In the below video, Endress demonstrates how he can transform his two-car garage into a full-functioning workshop in less than five minutes. A long workbench spanning one wall houses a series of multipurpose rolling cabinets used for storage and as tool stands, work surfaces, and infeed and outfeed tables. They can be arranged in a variety of ways to handle all sorts of tasks or store out of site.
