In this video, accomplished chair maker Brian Boggs shares his secrets for using a card scraper to prepare the surface of a board. His technique allows you to bypass most of the sanding when getting a project ready for a finish. 

Boggs demonstrates several ways to hold the scraper to acheive a gentle cut or a heavy cut. He also offers tips for removing tearout and maintaining a flat surface. Follow his advice to achieve a nice sheen on the part for your next woodworking project.
