Inlay Humidor
by Richard M. Kerrell
Style: Contemporary, Custom Design Type: Humidor Materials: Wenge, Mahogany, Holly, Snake Wood, Cedar, Varnish, Brass, Credo system Dimensions: 11 in. deep by
15 in. wide by
7 in. tall.
Kerrell's humidor won first place in the contemporary woodworking - accessories category at the 2007 Design in Wood competition organized by the San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association. The inlay was the challenge in this design. Instead of making it flush with the rest of the box, he recessed some parts and raised others. The humidor features a brass hydrometer and Credo humidity-control system. The finish is varnish.
