Alan Turner, a lawyer by trade, owns and operates the Philadelphia Furniture Workshop, a school for woodworking in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia. A long-time woodworker, Turner got his start teaching through a night-school education program in the area. Planning for his eventual retirement from law, he decided to invest in his passion, spreading knowledge to the next generation of woodworkers.
