A Versatile Sanding Station
A rolling cart features a downdraft table and shop vacs to collect the dust
This rollabout sanding station was originally built for the Fine Woodworking shop, but it would be right at home in a one-man shop, too. It consists of a straightforward cabinet on casters made from medium-density fiberboard, with a latticework top. Inside, shop vacs draw dust from the random-orbit sander. In this short video, the magazine’s former shop manager shows all the features of the sanding station and explains how he built it.
