A Cherry Briefcase That Holds 35 Tools
Inspired by the famed H.O. Studley tool chest, a young woodworker built a case to carry his hand tools
When Tyler Chartier studied woodworking at Red Rocks Community College, in Colorado, he wasn’t content to carry his tools to class in just anything. So he built a briefcase-sized nested tool chest in cherry. Sliding dovetails connect interior partitions, and hand-cut dovetails join the corners of the curve-sided case. The photos in this slide show, narrated by FWW associate editor Thomas McKenna, take you inside for some close-up views.
