Re: Cherry Table
Sandy,
posted: 4:48 pm on February 13thvery nice table. Very clean and looks beautiful. I love cherry and it looks like you found some real nice pieces of wood.
I have two questions.
What finish did you use, and is is totally waterproof?
What is the mechanism for the sliding leaf. I have been thinking about making a table with this kind of expansion and am not sure how to get it to work like you did.
Thanks,
Dave
Re: Poll: Any Machinery on your Holiday Wish List?
I have older and smaller table saws and joiners and would love updated ones. I also could really use drum and belt sander to save some hand sanding.

I own a couple of Lie Nielsen planes and chisels and would love more. I think they are great tools and having seen a demo of sharpening was very impressed by that as well.

Re: Bench Cookie Giveaway
I own a set of these that I bought based on the recommendation on this site. They are great and I would love to have a second set as there are often two of working in the shop at the same time.

Nice table. Really looks beautiful. What type of finish is on it?
posted: 8:46 pm on October 29thDo you have any pictures of the sliders and legs and how they hinge down? When you made the table, I imagine you cut it as it was make so the pattern matches perfectly when all the leaves are in, but the grain may not match when only one or two or no leaves are in. How do you get around that since it is not obvious in any of the pictures. This seems like a cool plan for an expanding dining room table.
