Re: Test Your Woodworking IQ

you mean all this time I could have been using the rear bumper of my truck to polish wood? Man, all this time I've been using pumice as one of the materials to polish close to a third of the projects I've built over the past 20 years. What kind of a maroon (intentional mispelling, not that much of a moron) am I? I cold've just walked out of my shop and been grinding a beautiful piece of cherry on my bumper. What is it's equivalent in grit?

Re: Making the King's Furniture

wow! i'm gonna go make cubby holes with birch plywood. i'll spend countless minutes sorting through materials, choosing only the finest quality. then i will measure once and cut 5 times. i will finish with an oil base primer and latex finish paint. And for this i will probably make more per hour than Mr. Radelow. how sad is that. i look at your work and my head hurts knowing i will never have the patience.

Re: Poll: What's more important? Speed or the joy of woodworking?

if i'm making a piece for a customer i'm more than likely using a jig setup (accuracy and speed) if i'm making something for myself or a friend or family i'm more than likely doing it by hand (that's when i'm doing it for fun and not worrying about dollars). And FesGaucho, 60 percent of the time i'm right 100 percent of the time (stolen line), that is my absolute.

Re: Poll: What hand tools are on your holiday wish list?

The one thing I'm very suprised wasn't on the list was clamps. I'm always thinking if I only had one more clamp or I need this specialty clamp because I'm aching to do an oddball project that requires a clamp that you can't justify buying for yourself.

Re: Curved Dresser

Fun house mirror furniture. That is great. You should make a complete bedroom set.
