Re: Can Fine Woodworking and art furniture coexist?
I design my own furniture. When I begin it is with a concept. I take the concept and try to make working drawings from that. It is then that I confront the details of how it's going to get built. If a particular joinery can be added without changing the integrity of my design, great! I go with it.

One of two things happens then: (1) firewood; or (2) compromise. But it's the solving of these problems that makes woodworking interesting for me. Everything else is just technique.
Re: Fossil Stone Serving Buffet
I really like your sideboard. My wife has announced that a sideboard is my next project. What are the dimensions of yours? I need the one I'm building to be deep and capacious.
