This was a Christmas present for my Mother In Law. The inlay is dyed pearwood. The trays are mahagony and curly maple. The ring trays are foam strips covered with suede. The finish is french polished...

Made this box for my Mother in law for Christmas. Curley Maple with dyed pearwood inlay. Finish is super blonde dewaxed shellac polished to a shine.

I made a french curve out of 1/2 inch mdf and used it as a template guide. I clamped the curve to the lid and used a dremel tool with a stewart macdonald base and a 1/32 bit and rode the shaft of the bit on the curve. I would route small sections then reposition the curve. The inlay is dyed pearwood that was spritzed with water and bent around a soldering iron.
