Made this box for my Mother in law for Christmas. Curley Maple with dyed pearwood inlay. Finish is super blonde dewaxed shellac polished to a shine.

posted: 9:50 am on March 3rdI made a french curve out of 1/2 inch mdf and used it as a template guide. I clamped the curve to the lid and used a dremel tool with a stewart macdonald base and a 1/32 bit and rode the shaft of the bit on the curve. I would route small sections then reposition the curve. The inlay is dyed pearwood that was spritzed with water and bent around a soldering iron.
