Spalted Maple Hall Table

My goal was a simple table that would show off the amazing spalting in this piece of wood. I wanted the legs to reflect the wavy spalting in the top.
The top was finished very carefully and the shellac level sanded several times to make a perfectly smooth surface. People often mistake the top for marble and are suprised when the wood is warm.
The base is out of walnut finished with an orange shellac and the top is finished with a blonde shellac and wax.
