Made out of birch, based on a 1949 Popular Science plan for a "bait box". My wife has claimed the box for keepsakes and it will likely never go fishing. Building the wood tray mechanism and matching the grain for both top and bottom and around the mitred corners was the most fun. Natural finish with danish oil and hand rubbed with finishing wax.
