This is an example of the Pennsylvania Rocking Chair (my name for it) I have been building since 2002. I learned how to build this chair from Hal Taylor of Fredericksburg, VA. A unique design employing bent lamination backbraces and rockers, floating backbraces that bend and turn to conform to the sitters shape and a coopered headreat which lets the grain flow in only one direction througout the chair.
